Virtual Event Virtual Event
Free

AstroAgency would like to invite you to the virtual SpaceBar. This event will be held monthly on Thursdays at 7:00pm (BST) as a live show, hosted by Dallas Campbell and Dr. Suzie Imber. Here, you can enjoy anything from a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster to a hot cup of tea while discussing all things space! The events will feature guest contributors from the space industry, the latest space news, and questions and comments from you, the audience!

The new one-hour live show can be viewed on your computer, tablet or phone and, for the first time, on your television using the YouTube app on your Smart TV, streaming stick/box or game console of choice. The live show will be followed by the Aftershow Party, which will take place on Zoom, where you can chat with the contributors, discuss the episode, and network with other attendees.

All SpaceBar attendees are encouraged to join the live chat and actively participate in the session. Questions from the audience will be put to our hosts and guests throughout the event, and you can even submit your questions, by video, ahead of the event. Keep an eye on this page as we’ll post details of our guests closer to the time.

Following the live event, there will be an aftershow event, held on Zoom, where you can discuss the content from the live session and chat with the panellists.

Confirmed Guests

Nick Searra is the founder of Interstellar Foundation, an organization of scientists, philosophers, authors, and National Geographic Explorers working to create an updated Golden Record and further research in several aspects related to communication and archiving. Nick has spent the last fifteen years living, working and travelling the whole African continent. He has been lucky to participate in the rapid expansion of communication networks in emerging markets, and seen the benefits to the communities, cities, and countries they serve.

Professor Lucie Green is a solar physicist at UCL who studies how the Sun’s magnetic field evolves and affects the Earth’s space environment. She has developed new methods to measure the magnetic helicity and flux of the Sun, which are key factors in understanding the origin and impact of solar eruptions. Her research aims to improve the science of space weather forecasting, which is vital for protecting satellites, power grids, and other technologies from solar storms.

Our Startup Spotlight will feature Daniel Petitfils from Lúnasa, a UK-based space-tech startup that aims to provide affordable and reliable access to space for the small satellite industry.
