AstroAgency’s SpaceBar – November 2023

AstroAgency would like to invite you to the virtual SpaceBar. This event will be held monthly on Thursdays at 7:00pm (BST) as a live show, hosted by Dallas Campbell and Dr. Suzie Imber. Here, you can enjoy anything from a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster to a hot cup of tea while discussing all things space! The events will feature guest contributors from the space industry, the latest space news, and questions and comments from you, the audience!

The new one-hour live show can be viewed on your computer, tablet or phone and, for the first time, on your television using the YouTube app on your Smart TV, streaming stick/box or game console of choice. The live show will be followed by the Aftershow Party, which will take place on Zoom, where you can chat with the contributors, discuss the episode, and network with other attendees.

All SpaceBar attendees are encouraged to join the live chat and actively participate in the session. Questions from the audience will be put to our hosts and guests throughout the event, and you can even submit your questions, by video, ahead of the event. Keep an eye on this page as we’ll post details of our guests closer to the time.

Following the live event, there will be an aftershow event, held on Zoom, where you can discuss the content from the live session and chat with the panellists.

Confirmed Guests

• Melissa Quinn (General Manager, Slingshot Seradata) – Melissa Quinn is the Managing Director of Seradata, Slingshot Aerospace’s industry-leading space database, tracking every launch since Sputnik. Melissa is driving the global expansion of Slingshot Aerospace, accelerating space sustainability. Previously, as Director of Spaceport Cornwall, Melissa’s purpose-driven leadership was instrumental in the delivery of the UK’s first satellite launch. Melissa is passionate about how space improves life on Earth. She fosters this through outreach to children, specifically girls interested in STEM. Melissa holds an MSc from the London School of Economics. She is a recognized thought leader, having featured in international media and is a keynote speaker.
• Greg Duffy (Director, Prospero Space Fellowship) – Greg is a passionate advocate for the UK space sector and a founding director of Prospero Space Fellowship. He has worked as a secondary school teacher for over 25 years and is currently an Assistant Headteacher in Derby. Greg is a STEM Ambassador with ESERO-UK and specialises in space education and promotion. He has mentored ESA CanSat teams since 2005 and twice taken UK champion teams to the European ESA Competition in 2018 and 2019. He has developed space-themed primary to secondary transition projects and annual space camps since 2020; seeking to inspire the next generation of UK space pioneers.
• Vivek Reghu (Founder, Academy Of Thought) will be joining this month’s Startup Spotlight – Academy Of Thought is a robotics & artificial intelligence platform for education purposes. Our vision is to unlock minds and build robots that will transform the world we live in. We provide the knowledge and robotic / AI resources to unleash student’s potential.
